Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Primiparae and multiparae of all ages, a singleton cephalic presentation, gestation between 37+0 weeks to 41+6 weeks, an intended VB, and an active 1st stage.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Wish for water birth, active 2nd stage, emergency, pathological (definition according to FIGO) fetal heart tracings on admission, indications for caesarean section (CS) according to the NICE guideline, and limited capability to understand written and oral German.
