Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - fulfillment of research criteria on primary insomnia (Edinger et al., 2004) - fulfillment of quantitative criteria on primary insomnia (Buysse, Ancoli-Israel, Edinger, Lichstein, & Morin, 2006): sleep latency or waking times after sleep onset of > 30 minutes for at least 3 nights/week for at least 6 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - other sleep disorders - sleep disorders caused by circardian problems & shift work - regular drug & alcohol consumtion (Marihuana > 1x/weeke & > 3 glasses of alcohol/day over 21 days) - Epilepsy - severe other psychiatric disorders - severe depression - suicidality - schizophrenia

- Sleep Quality: Insomnia Severity Index (ISI-G; questionnaire; pre - post - 3months follow up) - sleep latency, sleep efficiacy (objectively: actigraphic devices; pre - post - 3months follow up) - sleep latency, sleep efficiacy (subjectively: sleep diaries; pre - post - 3months follow up)
