Inclusion criteria: healthy children with inconspicuous medical history, normal pregnancy of the mother, normal skull shape
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: age > 14 month; conspicuous medical history, asymmetry of the skull, conspicuous pregnancy of the mother

| Aim of the study is the test of reliability concerning the maximum head circumference and the estimation of the cranial volume.The influence of the anthropometric measurements of maximum cranial height (ear-to-ear measurement) and maximum cranial length (Glabella - to - external occipital protuberance) should also be analyzed with the software OnyxCeph. A total of 44 healthy Caucasian infants between the age of 0 - 14 month was included in the study and 3D images of the head were performed using an optical surface scanner. The 3D data was analyzed using OnyxCeph software. A series of at least 40 healthy children without apparent asymmetry of the head, unremarkable medical history and normal maternal pregnancy should be included in the study. According to an internal database protocol, a three-dimensional light optical scan with detailed morphometric and volumetric evaluation was obtained for all patients (3D-Shape, Erlangen, Germany). The measure point density was 200 mm on the z-scale; measurement duration was 640 ms. Data triangulation and fusion was conduced using specialized software (Slim3D, 3D-Shape, Erlangen, Germany) resulting in a 3D polygon grid. All data were converted into STL-format and copied into cephalometry software (Onyx Ceph, Image Instruments, Chemnitz, Germany). In order to analyse the specific morphological features of the 3D skull three median and two bilateral points of the surface were defined. | — |
