Interventions

Group 1: Pupils from classes participating in the mobility program shall be included. The mobility program consists of a short mobility break within each lesson, as well as a 30 minute long exercise

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Second and fifth grade pupils, whose schools participates in the Rebirth active School mobility program.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Telomere length of DNA from peripheral mononuclear cells (measured by PCR (polymerase chain reaction)) at inclusion, after 1 year and after 2 years.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The followig prameters will be analyzed as secondary endpoints at inclusion, after 1year, and after 2 years: Pulse wave velocity will be measured oscillometrically by using the Vicorder device, which is validated for pediatric use. Intima-media thickness will be measured by ultrasound, employing the guidelines of the Mannheim Consensus. p16INK4a-Expression will be determined by RT-PCR in peripheral mononuclear cells.
