Group 1: Patients with extracorporeal circulation: Blood withdrawal after induction of general anesthesia (0h), after weaning from CPB (4h) and 24hrs after the end of surgery. Group 2: OPCAB patients

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients CPB and OPCAB: Coronary artery disease with elective myocardial revascularization surgery. Healthy controls: no further criteria.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnancy 2. Immunosuppressive therapy (within last 7 days) 3. CKD (eGFR < 60 ml/min) 4. known hematologic malignancy 5. HIV infection 6. acute or chronic inflammation 7. medical history of organ transplantion

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Leukocyte-platelet interactions in flow cytometry at time points 0h, 4h and 24h.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Release of pro-inflammatory and pro-thrombotic mediators (analyzed by ELISA) at time points 0h, 4h and 24h.
