Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: LDL-cholesterol >190mg/dl without lipid-lowering therapy; cholesterol >290 mg/dl without lipid-lowering therapy; tendon xanthomas; positive family history for hypercholesterolemia; positive family history for myocard infarct before the age of 50 for grand-parents, uncle, aunts or before the age of 60 for parents, siblings and children; first and second degree relatives of patients with FH

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: refusal of written consent of participation in the study; obvious impairment of cognitive functions; decompensated, acute psychiatric diseases; acute non-cardio-vascular disease, non-cardio-vascular surgeries within the last three months, chronic non-cardiac diseases (e.g. chronic kidney failure, rheumatoide arthritis, cancer during the last 5 years); people, not able to understand the meaning of the study
