Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: acute traumatic nerve lesion (<72 hours) or iatrogenic nerve lesions of the upper extremity: radial, median and ulnar nerve distal to the brachial plexus and proximal of the wrist. Nerve compression syndroms include, sulcus nervi ulnaris syndrome, loge de guyon syndrom, patients male or female 18-99 years old, german or english speaking, able to reason, written consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: * Patient does not want to be included into the study or no written consent * patient does not appear to follow up appointments * not able to reason or not able to be included in the study * inclusion in other studies evaluating medical drugs or medical devices * absolute contra indications to MRI scans or implants that are not compatible with MRI (ICD, pace maker, many heart valves, brain or spinal cord stimulators or most other electric stimulators, insulin or other drug pumps, some ventriculoperitoneal shunts (VP shunts), cochlea implants, metal implants or foreign bodies located in soft tissue (located for example in eyes, abdomen, thorax), adiposities that prevents MRI scans, in case of relative MRI contra indications only after informed and consent and approval of the radiologist: claustrophobia, joint replacements, tattoos, pricings, vessel stents, heart vessel stents, contraceptive coil, life-threatening co-morbidities, polytrauma no German or English language skills pregnancy current immunosuppressive or antineoplastic therapy strong psychiatric disorders
