Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: sufficient understanding of the German language, informed consent, endoscopic transnasal surgery for lesions of the skull base and the sellar region

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: underage, pregnancy

Measure	Time frame
nasal health and quality of life (SNOT-NC, SF-36, custom made questionnaire for nasal health) and standardized testing of the smelling discrimination before the operation and three to six months postoperatively	—

adhesions and nasal breathing before the intervention and three to six months postoperatively (standardized endoscopy and rhinomanometry)	—
