Group 1: Retrospective analysis based on medical charts, neuropathological examinations, outpatient department records and pre-operative examinations of the Clinic of Neurosurgery

Inclusion criteria: Patients who underwent stereotactical, transcerebellar, suboccipital neurosurgery at the University of Freiburg - Medical Center between 2000 and 2014

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: none

Measure	Time frame
Reaching the pre-defined surgical area (success rate). For biopsies defined as histological diagnosis consistent with clinical course. For puncture of cystes or abscesses defined as relief of the space-occupying effect. For placement of shunt catheters defined as correct postoperative position.	—

Surgical morbidity (transient and permanent) and mortality.	—
