Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients treated >1 year ago in our clinic (non-surgical periodontal therapy) who after at least 2 dental hygiene maintenance visits have at least 2 residual periodontal pockets of 5-7mm depth

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: pregnancy/lactation, antibiotic therapy of any kind over the past 6 months, purulent exudate in any pockets, cigarette consumption of greater than 20 per day and any autoimmune deficiencies

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
residual pocket reduction of =1mm, as measured after 3 and 6 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
BoP (Bleeding on Probing)?, reduced AL (attachment loss), as measured after 3 und 6 months.
