Group 1: Patients with low back pain: One-off myofacial treatment of the lumbar region for 5 to 10 min. Group 2: Healthy subjects: One-off myofacial treatment of the lumbar region for 5 to 10 min.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Low back pain: (1) low back for at least 6 month (2) mean pain in the last 4 weeks at least 4 (measured by visual analogue scale) (3) 18 - 65 yeras Controlls: (1) 18 - 65 yeras (2) matched to low back pain subjects

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) systemic conditions, such as cancer, severe osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or systemic lupus erythematosus; (2) any neurological conditions; (3) any kind of manual therapy of the back within the last four weeks; (4) surgery of the spine and/or lower limb in the past; (5) any kind of mental disorders

Neuromuscular function of erector spinae muscle in the region L4/L5, measured by tensiomyography (TMG), before and after myofascial release treatment.
