Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Possession of a pedelec/bicycle during the study period

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -orthopaedic, cardiological or other condition which result in acute health risk when unsupervised physical exercise is performed -no access to a computer or smartphone with internet connection (necessary for data Transfer)

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Difference in success rate of pedelec and bicycle buyers who reach the WHO recommendation for physical activity (150min moderate or 75min intensive activity per week). Data collection for the primary endpoint will be conducted 8 weeks after enrollment. Time spent in the heart rate zone recommended by WHO will be measured during 4 weeks.

Secondary

-For recent buyers (delivery date of the bike not older than 4 weeks) 12 month after survey for the Primary outcome a second observation period over 4 weeks will be conducted. -Evaluation of influencing factors on fulfilling of WHO recommendations (smoker status, body weight, body-mass-index, resting heart rate (recorded in the morning), maximum heart rate, primary motivation for purchase (health improvement, physical fitness, prevention of commuting problems/traffic reduction, reach work easier (parkingproblem), avoid traffic jam, reduce costs) , type of bike(citybike, crossbike, mountainbike), Age (35 and younger, 36-50 years,51-65 years, 66 years and older), primary planned usage type (commuter, daily life, recreation/Sport), sex, previous activity Level, use of an other pedelec/bicycle parallel to the new bike, recent buyer (yes/no) -Differences between pedelec and bicycle buyers regarding quality of life (SF36), general physical activity (Freiburger questionaire), accidents, thievery, sick days, lost days, estimated kilometer per year, previous activity level, primary planned usage type, usage time, average heart rate and the replacement of other forms of transport with the new pedelec/bicycle regarding weekly usage (days per week), reasons and distance. -For the Group of the recent buyers: Differences between the two observation periods (2 month after purchase and 12 month after the first Observation period) in Freiburger questionaire score - Differences between pedelec and bicyle buyers rate who used the pedelec/bicycle instead of the car
