Group 1: Patients admitted to an intensive care unit at the Universitary Hospital Essen who fall into sepsis. 30 ml blood is taken during the first 24 hours after diagnosing sepsis, neutrophils isolat

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Agreement with participation in clinical trail, in case of minority agreement of both parents/ legal guardians

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: immonusuppressive medications, leukemia
