Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Patients over 18 years • singel interventions on the mitral valve or as a combination procedure in minimally invasive techniques with periareolar access path • Elective engagement • Urgent intervention • Written consent present • Moment of inquiry after the wound healing and at least 3 months postoperatively

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • patient is not able to consent • Pre-existing sensory disturbance in the area of access routes • pre-existing neurological disorder that can interfere with the planned study area

The study aims to answer the questions whether sensory disturbances in the area of periareolar access path occur after minimally invasive mitral valve surgery, if eventually affect existing sensory disturbances in the area of periareolar access path the quality of life of patients and if the patients are satisfied with the cosmetic result after minimally invasive mitral valve surgery.

The long term goal of our studies on the sensibility of the anterior chest wall after minimally invasive mitral valve surgery is to identify possible side effects of the people already employed treatment strategies to describe, to clarify and, if necessary, to evaluate a possible optimization of the established treatment concepts.
