Group 1: The parents of the participants are asked to indicate the diet of their child (vegetarian, vegan or omnivorous) using the entry questionnaire, and the participants are assigned to three group

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Vegetarian, vegan or omnivorous diet without further specialties

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Chronical diseases which affect diet, metabolism, physical development or activity; special diet, e.g. gluten-free diet

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Intake of food, energy and nutrients is collected on three days during the survey year via food record. The parents have to weigh and record all foods and drinks which the child consumed during those three days. Energy and nutrient content of the foods and drinks are taken from the database LEBTAB.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Body height and weight, supplemental nutrient intake, organic food consumption, motivation for vegetarian or vegan diet are collected via main questionnaire.
