Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.) Patients who will be treated in the cardiac surgery of the Universitätsklinik Köln 2.) relatives of the patients 3.) over 18 years - for both Groups (patients and relatives) 4.) adequate comprehension of the German language and the ability to read 5.) after the participants got a debriefing, they have to sign a informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) under the Age of 18 2) disagreement with participation

The study´s goal is to relate the strains and life quality of patients and their relatives in a prospective study. For this, instruments for measuring the strains and life quality are used. Survey of patients and their relatives via questionnaires at three different time points: T0: at the day the patient gets admitted to the Hospital - questionaaires for the patient: SF 36, PHQ-D, IMSA, „Short Screening Scala for PTSD“ fromBreslau et. al) questionnaire for relatives: SF 36, PHQ-D, „Short Screening Scala for PTSD“ from Breslau et. al) T1: postoperativ questionnaires between day 2 and day 4 on the intensive care unit - questionaaires for the patient: SF 36, PHQ-D, IMSA, „Short Screening Scala for PTSD“ fromBreslau et. al) questionnaire for relatives: SF 36, PHQ-D, „Short Screening Scala for PTSD“ from Breslau et. al) T2: questionaaires after 6 months after the Operation (postal) questionaaires for the patient: SF 36, PHQ-D, IMSA, „Short Screening Scala for PTSD“ fromBreslau et. al) questionnaire for relatives: SF 36, PHQ-D, „Short Screening Scala for PTSD“ from Breslau et. al)
