Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Indication for elective surgery due to second- or third-degree rectal prolapse; age =18 Jahre
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Pregnancy; planned simulatenous surgery; non-elective surgery; severe comorbidity with one-year life expectancy <75%; missing written informed consent

| The primary endoint is quality of life as measured with the PAC-QoL questionnaire (Patient Assessment of Constipation-Quality of Life).
