Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Age at least 55 years • Includes bagatell trauma • DECT examination from the pelvis available • MRI examination from the pelvis available • Medical indication • Patient consent • Interval between examinations: = 14 days

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - age 14 days - bone marrow disease - metastasis in the pelvis - metal implant in the pelvis - pregnancy

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The aim of our work was to test the Dual Energy CT (DECT), a modern method for the representation of bone marrow edema, on the applicability for the diagnosis of insufficiency fractures of the pelvis. The primary outcome was if a fracture is visible or not. Therefore the radiologist analyzed the pictures from the DECT and from the MRI if there is a interruption of the corticalis or a bone marrow edema visible. The examination was performed as soon as possible after the accident. Not later than 14 days after the accident.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
In the secondary outcome, a comparison was made between fracture size of the fragility fracture of the pelvis in the DECT and the MRI diagnostics. Therefore the two imaging tecniques were evaluated how many fractures are visible, where the fracture was located in the pelvis and if the fracture was stable or instable. This Outcome was assessed at the same time when the primary outcome was assessed. As soon as possible after the accident.
