Group 1: ICU-patients suspected of having mesenteric ischemia and subsequent proof of mesenteric ischemia after inclusion into the study. Group 2: ICU-patients suspected of having mesenteric ischemia

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Strong clinical suspicion (prolonged ileus after surgery and increased or persistent high need for vasopressors) or 2. Hyperlactatemia (rise above 3,5mmol/l or no drop beyond 5mmol/l within 12h after surgery) or 3. Signs of bowel ischemia found on endoscopy or CT

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: age <18 years, pregnancy
