Inclusion criteria: Consent for study participation, arterial catheter is placed

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The agreement between SpHb (continuous measurement via pulse co-oximetry) and the tHb values ??of arterial blood gas analysis should be assessed in critically-ill patients of a surgical intensive care unit over a study period of 24 hours.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The possibilities for an in vivo calibration to eliminate measurement differences should be evaluated. The influence of inflammatory state, peripheral perfusion and disease severity on the performance of SpHb measurement should be analyzed.
