Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The study examine the vitamin C induced changes of cerebral high-energy phosphates adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and phosphocreatine (PCr) by 31-phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy in magnetic resonance imaging (3.0 Tesla). Therefore, baseline spectra and 5 further spectra were recorded on the first and at the last day of the trial in each condition. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |

| Laboratory analysis included peripheral glucose glucose, C-peptide and insulin, as well as the stress parameter ACTH and cortisol before and are exposed after the intervention on day one and eight in both groups. In addition, the vitamin C-mediated change in food intake is examined via a standardized ad libitum breakfast on every first and last day of the experiment. | — |
