Interventions

Group 1: In Youths older than 13 and younger than 18 with diagnosed autism-spectrum-disorder (with the above listed in- and exclusion criteria), neurometabolites will be measured via MR-spectroscopy

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of an autism-spectrum-disorder; IQ = 85; otherwise healthy subjects

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Further psychiatric, neurologic or internistic disorders that could influence concentrations of neurometabolites. Excessive consumption of alcohol or consumption of illegal drugs in the past 6 months. An IQ below 85. No consent to be informed of possible random MRI-findings.

Aim of the study is the measurement and evaluation of neurometabolites concentration in youths with autism-spectrum-disorder and control subjects of the same age, as well as analyzing possible correlations between the metabolites concentration and the severity of the autistic impairments
