individuals with an above-average level of stress who were at increased risk for developing a burnout syndrome

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (a) age 18-70 years, (b) risk of burnout or incipient burnout syndrome, (c) above-average level of perceived stress, (d) adequate fitness and a general health status enabling participation in the programme and toleration of mud baths, (e) being insured with the Barmer-GEK or a self-paying patient
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (a) acute illness and (b) acute or chronic health disorders that represent a contraindication to the administration of full mud baths (e.g., reduced cardiovascular capacity, skin diseases, febrile infections etc.)
