Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 100 patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus or non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus under ongoing pharmaceutical therapy; 100 patients without diabetes mellitus (control cohort)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age < 18 years, Intolerance of ultrasound gel, Known peripheral small vessel disease if patient is screened as non-diabetic, Persistent ulcers in measurement area, Moderate or severe peripheral vascular disease

hemoglobin concentration (oxygenated) in a 3D image of the ventral trunk, the hands and the feet
