Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The primary endpoint of the study was the effect of high-flux versus low-flux hemodialysis on hemoglobin concentration. Therefore, the intraindividual change in hemoglobin concentration between beginning (month 0) and end (month 12) of the study period was calculated and compared between the two treatment groups. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Secondary endpoints were the effects of high-flux versus low-flux hemodialysis on inflammatory status, oxidative stress, and nutritional status. As was done for calculations of the primary endpoint, the intraindividual changes in albumin, hsCRP, oxidative LDL, and myeloperoxidase concentrations between months 0 and 12 were determined and compared between the two treatment groups. | — |
