Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: partial edentulism in the upper post-canine area, residual height of alveolar crest of less than 3 mm, width of alveolar crest of more than 6 mm

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: compromised general health (ASA (III or IV) – American Society of Anaesthesiology) , periodontitis, pathologies of maxilary sinus and Schneiderian membrane, drug or alcohol addictions

High amount of newly formed bone in the augmented sinus floor in combination with high biodegradation of the synthetic bone grafting material and formation of functional bone tissue 6 months after sinus floor augmentation utilizing different tricalcium phosphate-based bone grafting materials as determined by evaluation of histological sections and x-rays as well as volume stability of the grafted area and its association with patent dependent parameters including BMI and smoking, age gender and hormonal factors after

Volume stability of the grafted area and high survival rates of the dental implants as determined by clinical follow-up and evaluation of cone beam CTs utilizing spezialized software 2 and 5 years after implant placement.
