Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Presentation in ED by prehospital emergency teams and acute or acute-on-chronic state of disease.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: minors, pregnant women, need for immediate treatement in intensive care unit or operation theater (or similar), intubated patients, patients with contra-indications for positionings or non-invasive ventilation, patients under supervision of authorities (inmates of penitentiaries or similar), patients with impaired communication abilities including insufficient knowledge of the German language, missing allowance of ED medical staff.
