Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Subjects of the KORA-study tested for gene polymorphisms and with a normal OGTT result or disturbed glucose tolerance 2. Subjects between 18 and 69 years that are homozygous carriers of the minor alleles of rs2014355 and rs174547. 3. Subjects between 18 and 69 years that are homozgyous carriers of the major alleles of rs2014355 and rs174547. 3. Subjects with a BMI <35

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Known diabetes mellitus 2. Immunosuprressive therapy 3. Severe cardiovascular disease 4. Liver disease (GOT, GPT > 3-times of the norm) or kidney disease (cratinine > 1.2 mg/dl) 5. Psycic disease or inabillity to consent

Identification of genotyp-specific differences in the metabolic changes provoked by different nutritional challenges to identify new biomarkers for an early and specific risc prediction. Therefore, clinical-chemical routine laboratory investigations in plasma samples, measurement of plasma metabolites (FIA-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS, GC-TOF-MS), measurement of eicosanoids in plasma (ELISA) and moleculargenetical studies in PBMCs for determination of proinflammatoric risc markers (PCR, western blots, EMSA) were applied.
