Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Cardiac surgery 2. (TIMP-2) * (IGBP7)-urine concentration>=0,3 3. Informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with pre-existing kidney disease not requiring RRT (GFT < 30mL/min) 2. patients with pre-existing RRT 3. patients with a (glomerulo)nephritis, interstitial nephritis or vasculitis 4. pregnancy 5. patients after kidney transplantation

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Incidence of acute kidney injury in the first three postoperative days

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- severity of AKI - renal recovery (also GFR and creatinine levels at discharge and after 30, 60 and 90 days) - mortality after 30, 60 and 90 days - ICU and hospital stay - MAKE (major adverse kidney events) after 30, 60 and 90 days - biomarkers at the beginning (randomization) and 12 h postoperative
