Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: inclusion criteria for patients: 18 - 60 years of age clinically diagnosed atopic dermatitis according to the criteria by Hanifin & Rajka (1980) duration of skin disease: at least 1 year occurence of AD-symptoms during the last six months inclusion criteria for healthy subjects: 18 - 60 years of age

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: exclusion criteria of the patient group: - other itch-associated (skin-)diseases - diagnosis of a psychiatric disease (ICD- category F0,1,7,8,9) - diagnosis of a chronic, non-atopic somatic disease - local or systemic use of glucocorticoids, topical immuno-suppressant-drufs or UV-irradtiation less than 48 hours before the participation in the study exclusion criteria of the healthy group: - atopic diseases like atopic dermatitis, asthma bronchiale or rhintis allergica - other itch-associated (skin-)diseases - diagnosis of a psychiatric disease (ICD- category F0,1,7,8,9) - diagnosis of a chronic somatic disease - local or systemic use of glucocorticoids, topical immuno-suppressant-drufs or UV-irradtiation less than 48 hours before the participation in the study

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The experienced itch intensity is examined immediately after each video presentation by means of a visual analog scale (0 - 10)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The number of scratch movements during the video presentations is being rated by two independent persons
