18 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of a paranoid or hebephrenic schizophrenia according to ICD-10 criteria. Baseline stability of medication for at least three weeks. Baseline stability of psychopathological symptoms for at least one week.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Other psychiatric disorders, severe internal or neurologic disordrs, seizures, implants, cancers.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Significant reduction in the score of the Positive and Negative Symptom Scale (PANSS) as a measure for the global severity of the disorder and the Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms (SANS) as a measure of the negative symptoms from Baseline to immediately after the 20th stimulation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Significant improvement of the Verbal Learning and Memory Test (VLMT), n-back-test, self-ordered pointing task (SOPT), all three measuring short memory and working memory, and Trail Making Test (TMT) as a measure of working memory, from baseline to immediately after the 20th stimulation.
