Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - first CVA (cerebral vascular accident), subacute phase (>= 2 weeks post stroke; <=3 month poststroke) - patient was walking independently prior to the CVA - Functional Ambulation Categories (FAC) of 1 or 2 - Patient is able to sit independently - there are no weight bearing restriction of the lower extremities (standing and gait)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - severe neglect (e.g.Catherine Bergego Scale CBS >10) - demonstrating pusher behavior (e.g.Scale for Contraversive Pushing SCP >=2.5) - restriction in weight bearing on lower extremities - walking with an assistive device or less than 1km prior to CVA - severe visual impairment - severe aphasia (patient must be able to follow instructions) - additional neurological conditions
