Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: healthy volunteers: no medication, BMI between 20 and 40 kg/m2 diabetic patients: moderate diabetes mellitus type 2 treated by diet alone or with oral antidiabetic agents (stable medication for at least 3 months), HbA1c < 8.0%, BMI between 20 and 40 kg/m2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: insulin or glucocorticoid treatment, smoking, dietary supplements, known allergy to the tested food itself or a component, severe chronic disease (gastrointestinal, renal, pulmonary, cardiac, neurological, and psychiatric diseases), or myocardial infarction
