Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Patients with an acute sigmoid diverticulitis stage IIb (CT-morphological) - Age above 18 - Clinically and mentally stable allowing them to be part of a clinical study - Signed written consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Underlying chronic inflammatory bowel disease - Acute psychiatric illness - No written consent - Already taken part in another study - Immunosuppressive agents
