Group 1: For nine weeks (one time per week) communication training will be given to caregiving family members of people with dementia (meeting 1 to 4 in small group setting lasting 2 hours at a time,

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: primary caregivers of people suffering from Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia or combined form, who care demented person at home

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: caregivers, whose family member suffers from other dementia as mentioned above or other underlying illnesses; caregivers, who suffer from cognitive deficits; residential care

improvement of communication between caregiver and person with dementia will be surveyed after training by using guided interviews	—

Subjective caregiver burden will be measured before and after the training as well as three month after training by BIZA-D (Zank, Schacke, Leipold 2006).	—
