Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria - age >= 18- ischaemic stroke according to WHO definition, first ever stroke - written informed consent for study participation from patient or their legal representative

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: Patients initially diagnosed with stroke but subsequently proven to have alternative diagnosis.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
poor outcome after stroke after 3 months defined as death or dependency (modified Rankin Scale >3 or Barthel Index score < 60)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Occurrence of approximately 16 complications (not all will be applicable to all patients) at 3 months after stroke.
