Conditions

Glioblastoma multiforme C71

Interventions

Group 1: A library of primary glioma cell lines will be generated. Clinical and radiological (follow-up) data will be correlated to the molecular properties of the tumor.

Survival time (from time of diagnosis). The goal of the current study is to investigate mechanisms of tumor cell invasion in GBM of different transcriptional subtypes. We aim to establish a panel of primary glioma cell lines from patient biopsies in serum-free cell culture and to characterize them with respect to genomic mutations and transcriptional subtypes (Verhaak 2010, Phillips 2006). Additionally, clinical, radiological and histological data will be registered in order to comprehensively characterize the cell lines. Thus, the study should be classified as a prospective observational trial in order to register survival time which is defined as primary endpoint. Secondary endpoints are radiological or clinical tumor recurrence after first line therapy.
