20 Years to 120 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: macular disorders (epiretinal membrane and macular hole), which have been operated with either vitrectomy 20 gauge or vitrectomy 23 gauge (retrospective)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: all other indications for vitrectomy, status after perforating keratoplasty, retinal detachment, proliferative vitreoretinal disorders, ocular lymphoma

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
rate of intra- and postoperative complications with respect to both indications and 4 surgeons, and the best corrected visual acuity (decimal visual acuity measured in 5 m)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
multivariate model/ Cox analysis of factors that might influence the operative outcome, such as age of the patient, intraoperative findings, indication, surgeon.
