Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: For the patient cohort: minimum age 5 years, and neurological pathologies leading to referral for fMRI localisation (primarily epilepsy or brain tumours). For the healthy subject group, minimum 18 years, no known neurological pathologies.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnancy, contraindications for MR imaging (such as cardiac pacemaker, aneurysm clips. For volunteers, disease of the central nervous system.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in quality of functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging results in healthy subjects and neurological patients, quantified by reduced Nyquist ghosting, increased BOLD sensitivity and other measures of image quality, including distortion and signal-to-noise ratio.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Establishing methods for dynamic distortion correction of 7 Tesla fMRI data.
