Group 1: alcohol dependent patients (abstinent at the time point of investigation) – participants will be investigated by means of neuropsychological tests, genetic analyses and questionnaires. Group

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: cases/patients: ICD-10 F10.2 or F12.2, written informed consent controls: no clinical diagnosis according to ICD-10 F1, written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: acute intoxication by psychotropic substances, alcohol- or cannabis consumption within the last 10 days (in advance of the testing), sedating drugs, insufficient knowledge of the German language

The aim of the present study is the identification of genetic (polymorphisms on genes relevant for addiction), neuropsychological (trail-making-test, IOWA-Gambling-Task, Go-Nogo-Task, STROOP-Test) and affective-motivational predictors (questionnaires, e.g. TCI) that are able to discriminate cannabis addicts, alcohol addicts (both groups at least 10 days abstinent) and controls or that are common for drug addictions in general.	—
