Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) postmenopausal women (last menstrual period at least 12 months ago) (2) non-smoking (3) good health / mobility

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) HRT (at least 6 months ago) (2) intake of phytoestrogens (3) lactose intolerance (4) diseases: cancer, diabetes, bowel disease, liver / bile disease

Effect of milk consumption on urinary steroid hormone excretion (analysis of concentrations of estrogens, estrogen metabolites and pregnanediol-glucuronide): Individual differences (four-day milk intervention 1 - four-day depletion 1) of respective urinary steroid concentrations of main interest. Additional investigation of individual differences: four-day milk intervention 2 - four-day depletion 2 and four-day depletion 3 - four-day depletion 1.

Effect of fat content of milk (1.5 % and 3.5 %) on urinary steroid hormone excretion (analysis of concentrations of estrogens, estrogen metabolites and pregnanediol-glucuronide): Analysis of variance for 2x2 crossover on the basis of individual differences (see Primary Outcome).
