Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Difference in TwPmo (twitch mouth pressure) in patients with Systemic Sclerosis compared to healthy subjects. Method: Twitch mouth pressure assessment during bilateral anterior magnetic stimulation of the phrenic nerves (Kabitz et. al Respir Physiol Neurobiol. 2007 Jun 15;156(3):276-82.) | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Difference in other parameters of respiratory muscle strength in patients with Systemic Sclerosis compared to healthy subjects (i.e. PImax (maximal inspiratory pressure), SnPna (Sniff Pressure ), P0.1, TwPdi (twitch transdiaphragmatic pressure)). Assessment of these parameters are in accordance with international guidelines (ATS/ERS Statement on respiratory muscle testing. Am J Respir Crit Care Med. 2002 Aug 15;166(4):518-624.). | — |
