Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Goal 1: Service and validation platform: This is the central platform for all CRC projects to proof their experimental findings (cellular or animal tumor models) in human cancer and validate their clinical relevance. Goal 2 :Establishment of a prospective collection of primary tumor samples, regional lymph node metastases, disseminated tumor cells, healthy lung tissue, and pre-therapeutic serum of patients with operable lung cancer. Identification of dissemination-associated genomic and transcriptomic alterations by matched-pair-comparisons of primary and metastatic tumor cells of lung cancer (unbiased approach). Goal 3: Verification of the metastasis-associated mechanisms controlling cell motility as studied by individual CRC projects by automated, digital microscopic immunocytometry (Olympus Scan^R system) and immunohistochemistry as well as assessment of the prognostic relevance of the respective invasion and metastasis pathways by correlation with clinical follow-up data within the cohort of lung cancer patients.
