Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: histologically assessed pulmonary fibrosis in the patient group

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients: other lung diseases right heart failure diabetes mellitus neuromuscular diseases Control subjects Lung diseases severe cardiac disease diabetes mellitus neuromuscular diseases

Primary

MeasureTime frame
One-time assessment of twitch mouth pressure after bilateral anterior magnetic stimulation as a measure of diaphragmatic strength using an automated shutter-occluded spirometer.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
One-time assessment of global respiratory muscle strength (PImax), respiratory drive (P0.1) and Sniff pressure at the mouth using an automated shutter-occluded spirometer. Correlation of respiatroy muscle strength with performance in the 6min walking test and diseas-specific laboratoy parameters (CCL18).
