Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients scheduled for intraabdominal gynecological surgery, female sex, willingness to perform exercise and written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Recent history (< three months prior to screening) of myocardial infarction, new or unstable angina, venous thromboembolism or chronic deep vein thrombosis, cerebrovascular accident or transit ischaemic attacks, ongoing pregnancy, scheduled surgery too early to enable preoperative trial participation, and the inability to exercise above anaerobic threshold (self-reported, evident from patient history, or detected by first Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing after initial trial participation).
