Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: Patients with long bone fractures of the extremities treated between 2017 and 2024 (retrospective training cohort) and patients treated in 2026 (prospective validation cohort), with complete availability of key laboratory data and no severe cognitive impairment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: Patients younger than 18 years, patients with multiple injuries, patients who did not undergo surgical intervention after admission, patients with incomplete medical records, patients who had implants removed due to non-infectious reasons within 4 weeks, patients with primary bone tumors, and patients with a life expectancy of less than 6 months.
