Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >= 18 years 2. ICU length of stay >= 72 hours 3. Expected to receive systemic antibiotics for >= 3 days 4. Presence of nasogastric tube or accessible faecal sampling

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Bowel surgery within 7 days prior to ICU admission 2. Active gastrointestinal bleeding 3. Inflammatory bowel disease or short bowel syndrome 4. Pregnancy or breastfeeding
