Conditions

The diagnosis of major depressive disorder was made by two independent psychiatrists based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), with a score greater than 20 on the 24-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD-24).

Interventions

tTIS sham group:Shame stimulation
The tTIS active stimulation group targeting sgACC:transcranial electrical stimulation
tTIS group with active stimulation targeting ALIC:transcranial electrical stimulation

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Diagnosed with major depressive disorder according to Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-V) by two independent psychiatrists; 2.HAMD-24 score more than 20; 3.Aged 18-65 years with right-handedness; 4.Agreeing to participate in this study and signed a consent form;

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.History of epilepsy, brain tumor, or trauma; 2.History of TMS, transcranial electrical stimulation, or electroconvulsive therapy treatments within the past 3 months; 3.Presence of metal implants; 4.Acute or serious suicide ideation;
