Interventions

Intervention Group:Provide gentle stroking and physical contact on the shoulders, arms, hands, and other areas while conducting approximately 15 minutes of daily conversation with the participants.
Control Group:Participants receive approximately 15 minutes of daily conversational interaction in the absence of physical touch or bodily contact.

18 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Ages 18-75 (18-40: young adult group; 40-75: middle-aged and older group); 2. Mild to moderate depression confirmed by clinical assessment; 3. Able to comply with intervention and testing procedures.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Presence of severe physical illnesses (e.g., heart disease, uncontrolled hypertension, diabetic complications, etc.); 2. Presence of cognitive impairment or psychiatric disorders that preclude cooperation with study procedures; 3. Receipt of similar interventions (e.g., physical touch, psychological interventions, etc.) within the past 3 months; 4. History of substance dependence or alcohol abuse; 5. Allergic or adverse reactions to physical contact.
