Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Male, aged 18–40 years, and physically healthy; 2. At least 1 year of resistance-training experience and an adequate physical-training background; 3. Able to perform a back squat with a load greater than 1.5 times body mass; 4. No severe disease or contraindication to exercise, such as heart disease or severe joint disease; 5. Able to maintain relatively stable body mass during the testing period and with no recent history of high-intensity training.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Currently having sports injuries, pain, or limited function; 2. Having serious illnesses or exercise contraindications; 3. Recently participated in unusually high-intensity training or competitions, which may affect test and training responses; 4. After health screening, the researchers determine it’s not suitable to complete high-intensity resistance or maximum cycling tests.
